There are lots of English language schools about, so why
choose ours? We have more than 15 years' experience in
combining language study with travel abroad, so we know how to
create the ideal conditions for students to develop effective and
fluent communication skills that will enhance their personal and
professional lives.
The locations of our schools have been carefully chosen in ideal
surroundings so that our students can enjoy exploring the area in
their free time. Torbay, with its beautiful coastline and dramatic
moorland scenery, Florida's miles of sandy beaches and all year
round sunshine. Cape Town, in the country of safaris and exotic
scenery, and the Mediterranean island of Malta, with its fascinating
culture and history.
We provide a wide variety of accommodation at all of our centres.
Most students choose to live with one of our carefully selected
homestays and maximise their opportunities to practise while they
are learning. This is the ideal way to experience the local culture
and
way of life.
We also offer student residence, and hotel or apartment
accommodation.
Courses are for a minimum of 2 weeks and some students stay with us
for a year or more. Students staying for a minimum of 8 weeks
receive discounted fees. The longer you study, the greater the
discount. Price discounts are calculated into the price-lists.
Our schools welcome all nationalities and all age groups. We
offer year round courses for adult students and also Easter and
summer courses for junior and teenage students from 8-18 years.
Typically, around 55% of our adult students are aged 18-30 years,
and 450/0 are over 30 years.
All students are awarded a Certificate of Attendance on successful
completion of their course.
Detailed language assessments can also be provided if requested at
least one week before the end of the course.
We look after our students from the time they enrol to the time they
depart. Prior to
arrival, you will receive full details of your accommodation;
transfers can be arranged
by the school and in many cases are included in the price. Our staff
on site are available to discuss any Aspect of your stay and provide
a full support service while you are studying with us.
We provide a wide range of high quality language courses at all
levels for people from a variety of different backgrounds. We offer
small class sizes and continually assess individual needs and
progress to ensure that each of our students achieves maximum
benefit.
Each LAL school has qualified, experienced and motivated staff and
offers modern teaching resources and methods.
We believe that learning English should be fun, whether you are in
or out of class.. All LAL schools provide a varied and exciting
range of social and cultural activities, which are an integral part
of the programmes. During the school breaks, students can relax and
make friends with other students from many different countries. Each
School Reception provides a wide range of information on all the
activities and leisure opportunities that
are available.
All students are provided with a course book at the start of their
course and books and dictionaries can be purchased on site for
further study
Our Academic Directors and senior teachers form our Academic
Committee and are regularly in contact to monitor developments in
the language teaching world. This includes working together on our
teacher training programmes and the development of our school
curriculum to maintain the most effective language learning
environment.
