Dear Student,
We at Oxford House College work in
partnership with Mitsuba Associates. We provide you
with the most effective, professional and caring learning
experience, while Mitsuba Associates can advise and
assist you in making your choice the correct one.
Stratford-upon-Avon is best known as the
birthplace of England's greatest writer, William Shakespeare,
and this connection continues to attract theatre-lovers and
academics to the town from all over the world.
Stratford-upon-Avon is a beautiful, green, safe town with
modern facilities and transport communications. There are
direct train and coach services to both London and Birmingham.
There are three theatres in Stratford-upon-Avon, including the
Royal Shakespeare Theatre. There is a new cinema, museums,
pubs and cafes, excellent shops, night clubs and restaurants.
The local Leisure Centre is very near the School, and the
facilities there include a large gym, tennis, football,
squash, swimming, basketball and badminton. The School is
surrounded by golf courses, and our students can go horse
riding at nearby stables.
Oxford House College overlooks the River
Avon, about 400 metres from the town centre. The School
building is very attractive, and is set in tree-lined gardens.
There is also a riverside garden. Students from many different
countries study at our School, so there is a truly
international atmosphere. The atmosphere in the School is also
informal and friendly, providing an excellent environment for
study.
We are a small, professional School, accredited by the British
Council, a member of ARELS and a University of Cambridge ESOL
Examination Centre. Our students can take the Cambridge FCE,
CAE, CPE and CELS examinations at the School.
We offer a range of courses -
General English
Business, Professional and Technical English
English for IELTS
English for Cambridge Examinations
Teachers' Courses
Combined Courses
English and Golf
Junior Summer Course
Our Group sizes are small - 8 students on average, 12 maximum.
This means we can pay special attention to each student in the
Group.
Another major priority for our School is to provide
comfortable accommodation for our students during their stay
in Stratford-upon-Avon. Most of our students stay with English
families with carefully selected Homestay families near the
School, on average 10-15 minutes on foot. The School is
situated in a residential area, so many of our Homestays are
nearby. The standard of our Homestay accommodation is high,
and you will be able to practise your English with your
Homestay family. You will have your own room, where you can
also do your homework at your own study desk.
The School can also arrange hotel and residential
accommodation at special prices for our students.
The School has a social activities and excursions' programme
and many of these activities are free, for example our weekly
video film evenings. We have regular drama clubs, film
evenings, barbecues, theatre visits, parties, quizzes and
other social events. There are excursions to Warwick Castle,
Oxford, the Cotswolds, London, Bath, York, Nottingham and
Wales, and weekend trips to coastal villages in Cornwall.
We hope you decide to come to Stratford-upon-Avon, the
birthplace of William Shakespeare, to practise and improve
your English. You will receive a warm and friendly welcome at
our School - from teachers, staff and students.
Best wishes
Jeremy Bull
