Dear Student
We, at CES, are pleased to work in partnership with
Mitsuba Associates, who counsel Japanese clients professionally on the choice of an appropriate School
of English in this country, including our own. We are confident that
Mitsuba Associates will
give you wise and caring advice about your choice of school.
We would like to welcome you as a student at CES. We have schools
open all the year in Worthing, an attractive seaside town of 100,000 people on England's South
Coast, 75 minutes from London by train, and in Wimbledon, the famous London suburb. We
also offer an International Summer Course in English Language and Culture at Oriel College
Oxford, one of the oldest colleges in Oxford University. We are accredited by the British
Council and we are members of ARELS, The Association of Recognised English Language
Services.
If you come to CES, we will take a close interest in you personally.
We will assess your language strengths and weaknesses, and allocate you to an appropriate
level of class. On our Intensive Course, the maximum number of students in a class is 12, with
an average of 8 to 10. We have a good mix of nationalities, so you should be able to make
friends with students from around the world.
Most of our students stay in carefully selected homestay families. We try to select hosts who
will be friendly and welcoming, and who will have the time to talk to you, so that you can
practise your English outside the classroom. We offer a wide selection of social activities, for
the students' free time, including excursions, to such places as London, Oxford, Cambridge ,
Brighton, sports, parties, discos, theatre and cinema evenings. All activities are supervised by
a representative of the school.
You can choose whether to come to our seaside centre in Worthing or our London centre in
Wimbledon throughout the year. Or, during the summer, you might like to experience the life
of an Oxford Undergraduate, by attending our course at Oriel College Oxford. Whichever
option you choose, we will do our best to ensure that you both enjoy your stay and benefit from
it academically.
