Scarborough International School
Dear Student,
We at Scarborough International School are pleased to work in conjunction with
Mitsuba Associates, who we know will advise and help you to make the correct choice of Language School.
Scarborough International School, established in 1968 in a beautiful seaside town, is a small
(maximum 90 students), private school housed in an attractive 19th century building with a garden, just ten minutes walk from the town centre and with a variety of local amenities nearby: banks, post office, shops, cafes and pubs. We offer a full range of courses for all ages, levels and needs throughout the year, to suit everyone with a desire to learn English whether it be for work, studies, examination preparation, travelling or just for fun.
We are well-known for providing a warm, supportive atmosphere in which students can improve their English and are committed to the needs of the individual.
Our small size enables us to provide a personal service to everyone both as a student, through courses run by qualified, committed, friendly and caring professionals; and, as a person through attention to life outside the classroom, which we understand plays a major part in the learning experience of students during their stay.
We have eight well-equipped classrooms; a modem, multi-media Self-Access Centre incorporating a language laboratory, computers with a variety of educational software and a small library with books available for loan; TV, videos and a video camera; and. a school minibus. The school's tea-room provides opportunities for relaxation for both teachers and students during the coffee breaks and lunchtime, whilst during the summer months the garden can be enjoyed by everyone during these times.
We arrange Homestay accommodation in carefully selected families, according to age and requirements, within easy walking distance of the school. Students are provided with full board. Breakfast and dinner is normally taken with the family and a packed lunch is eaten at school. Accommodation may also be arrange in flats, houses or hotels if required (early booking essential).
Being a small, select school we aim to make students feel like part of a family.
We would be delighted to welcome you.
Yours sincerely
Rosemary Glyde (Mrs)
Principal Director
