Oxford English Centre
Dear Student,
I am writing to tell you about our Language School, Oxford
English Centre.
Oxford English Centre was established as a year-round school
of English in 1979. We were first recognised by the British
Council in 1986 and have been a member of ARELS since then.
We are a single school, not part of a chain. We offer high
quality courses throughout the year in the university city of
Oxford. These include:
Intensive General English.
Cambridge Examination Preparation.
IELTS
TOEFL
Professional English
Medical
Business
Teachers
Specific Purposes
We teach in mixed-nationality groups (Course A); one-to-one
(Course B); combined (AB 25 and 30;BA15; BA20 and BA25); and
closed groups taking advantage of a well-qualified teaching
staff combined with a strong administrative team, good quality
accommodation, and full-time welfare support. The percentage
of Japanese students on our mixed nationality courses is 7%.
We have magnificent premises at Wolsey Hall close to the
centre of Oxford, with light and spacious classrooms;
self-access centre with listening facilities, computers with
free e-mail service; a common room, cafeteria and garden. We
are close to the city centre and the University Parks and
there are many local facilities (pubs, restaurants, shops)
close by. There is an imaginative and busy social programme
which is mostly included in the course fees and year round
optional Saturday excursions.
The school is medium-sized with 70 to 120 students. In the
summer we take on facilities belonging to Oxford University
and our enrolment grows to 350. There is a good nationality
mix with students from over 70 countries.
We work in partnership with Mitsuba Associates who will
assist you in your choice and application ensuring a safe and
efficient process and we recommend them to you.
We welcome you to our school and look forward to hosting you
in the future.
