Horner School of English
Dear Student,
We, the Horner School of English, work in partnership with Mitsuba
Associates. We provide you with the most effective, professional and caring learning experience whilst
Mitsuba Associates can advise and assist you in making your choice the correct one.
We are a small, family run school, fully recognised by the Department of Education for teaching English. We are located in the centre of Dublin city, in a beautiful, historical Georgian building. Travelling time from our host families to the school is about 45 to 50 minutes in the mornings.
We have a library, with books and cassettes available to borrow. It is also possible to watch videos in our school. We have free Internet access for our students. We also have a large coffee room in the school. During your break you can have free tea and coffee, and meet other students.
We offer host family accommodation for our students, with warm, friendly and welcoming host families. We only work with families that enjoy having students staying with them, and where you will feel happy and relaxed.
All of our teachers are highly qualified, with university degrees, teaching qualifications and teaching experience.
We have a busy and exciting activities programme for our students, and we organise at least one afternoon cultural visit and one evening activity every week. Evening activities include salsa dancing, Irish music nights, and trips to the National Concert Hall. Afternoon visits are always within walking distance from the school, such as visits to the Guinness hopstore, Christchurch Cathedral and the Viking visitor centre. All of
these activities are free.
In Summer we also organise weekend activities, and for some of these there is a small charge. These include trips outside Dublin to beautiful and scenic areas like Galway, and Glendalough.
Our activity programme is a great way to meet other students and make friends, and to see Dublin.
Because the Horner School is a small, family-run school all of our students receive individual care and attention. We will be happy to answer any questions you have about any
aspect of life in Dublin, and to help you find any information you need. Of course, if you ever have any problems we will do everything we can to solve them as quickly as
possible.
Our school is warm, friendly and caring, with a welcoming environment where you will enjoy learning English and meeting people from all over the world.
We look forward to meeting you soon,
Janice Horner
