| Anglo European School of English Dear Student,
We, the Anglo European School of English, work in partnership
with Mitsuba Associates. We provide you with the most
effective, professional and caring learning experience whilst
Mitsuba Associates can advise and assist you in making
your choice the correct one.
The Anglo European School of English was founded in 1971 and
has provided English language courses for thousands of
students from all around the world. It is accredited by The
British Council and is a member of ARELS.
The school is ideally located between Bournemouth town centre
(10 minutes' walk), the beach (15 minutes' walk) and the
residential suburb of Charminster (10 minutes' walk), where
many of our host families live. The building stands in its own
grounds and has the following facilities: 9 comfortable
classrooms, a multi media centre with 10 computers on which
students may access the Internet free of charge, a student
library, a secluded patio with a table tennis table where
regular barbecues are held and a cafeteria serving hot lunches
and a variety of snacks and soft drinks. The cafeteria also
has a wide-screen TV, which allows us to put on weekly film
shows.
The courses we offer are very flexible which means we can
cater for the needs of most students. You may start on any
Monday and chose to study for 20, 30 or 40 lessons per week.
The minimum period of study is 2 weeks and there is no
maximum. We also offer exam preparation courses (Cambridge
exams and IELTS) and long-term courses such as the Academic
Year (36 weeks) and the Academic Semester (24 weeks)
Student numbers vary from about 100 year-round up to 240 in
the peak summer months of July and August. The maximum class
size is 15 and the average is 12. The nationality mix is very
good. The main countries our students come from are: Spain,
Italy, Poland, Russia, Korea, Venezuela, Ukraine and France.
The percentage of Japanese students is usually between 4% and
8%. The minimum age is 16 years old and most students are in
their late teens or early 20s.
Apart from our language courses we also offer a full welfare
and accommodation service. Most students live with host
families and come to school either on foot or by bicycle or by
bus. (There is a bus stop right outside the school gates)
During the summer months we also offer residential
accommodation. Social activities include weekend excursions to
London, Oxford and Bath, film nights, football and volleyball
competitions, visits to Bournemouth's many exciting night
clubs and barbecues.
All of us who work at The Anglo European School of English
share the same philosophy: a course with us should be an
all-round fulfilling and enjoyable experience not just a
matter of learning the language. Our goal is that our students
should leave us having had a delightful time, which they will
remember fondly for the rest of their lives!
We look forward to welcoming you to Bournemouth.
Best wishes,
Brian Brownlee
Director
